Feeding Abby's

We cover the basics of feeding portions, transition to a raw diet and safe handling practices here. As always, if you have additional questions call us or reach out on our contact page

Feeding Portions

As a general rule we recommend feeding 3-5% of your dogs body weight daily. Most dogs do well with this total daily portion split into two (2) feedings; mornings and evenings.

Transitioning to Raw

To transition from kibble to raw we suggest that you do it gradually over a period of 10 days.We like to do a 10 day period to avoid GI issues from changing foods. This should be done even with dry foods.
Days 1-3: we suggest 3/4 of the meal remain kibble and 1/4 Abbys Choice. Days 4-5-6: do 2/3rd's kibble and 1/3rd Abbys Choice.Days 7 and 8: do 1/2 kibble and 1/2 Abbys Choice.Day 9: do 1/4 kibble and 3/4 Abbys Choice.Day 10: Success!! 100% Abbys Choice!

Safe Handling Practices

Abby's Choice Natural Raw Pet Food contains RAW ANIMAL MEAT & ORGANS and should be handled with precautions to guard against contamination to other foods and/or surfaces in your home. ALWAYS thaw Abby's Choice containers in the refridgerator prior to serving, preferably in a sealed waterproof container. ALWAYS store your thawed Abby's Choice in a refridgerated environment.
